My problem is the same as author to this post: http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=377446&forum_id=10&gforum_id=0 I quote from his post since it explains the problem well: "Now that the original resolve() method is deprecated, and I saw the new ID3DXFileData has IsReference() method. Now if IsReference() return a true value, how can I resolve to its child object?" The author found a solution to the problem, but didn't post it in the thread. Do anybody else know the solution to this problem?

Okey, seems to be a harder problem than I expected. Nobody ran into this situation in their .x use?

Or maybe .x-files are outdated and not used anymore? What do you people use for fileformat for your animation and modelling-purposes?
