Hi There Iam working on a project where the coders in another country are using BMFont for text rendering but the results they are getting arnt what is expected re spacing and kerning, so Iam wondering if there is a simple test program out there we can compare results against to see if they have made a mistake in their interpretation of the fnt file info. I have downloaded 4 or 5 tutorials and examples but they either dont compile or dont run on my Win7 system. Thanks Chris

I have an implementation of BMFont in my software, with kerning and all. I haven't had any issues yet, not even with non-latin languages.

While it's not really a BMFont "previewer" you could still use it to test the fonts that BMFont produces. At least if it's urgent.

Here's where you can download it: http://www.visualnovelty.com

To load a .fnt file you go to the File menu and select Import assets->Bitmap font.
Once imported, the font appears in the Asset library. Double-click the font there to spawn a text object in the scene.

PS. My implementation only takes the XML output.
PPS. My software needs to be run in administrator mode in Windows 7 (it will attempt to register some file types)

Thankyou for that, worked a treat. Nice tool you have there. I'll have to have a play with that. Upshot of it all is they were doing it right but a mixture of borders and italic is causing overlapping. But thats easily sortable.

Thankyou again.
Chris
