hi, I''m new to this forum, but not new to programming...I''m interested in getting started in game programming for fun, maybe write some real games. to start, I''m going with basic tile based 2D of course, and I was thinking it would be fun to write a chess or tetris game, but I have no idea where to start. it''s not the programming I''m having trouble with (VB, java-script, C++ I can do) but the game logic. I don''t know how to check if a chess move is valid, rotate pieces in tetris, etc. then comes AI for chess, even harder. I can''t find a simple example to learn from either...anyone have any suggestions on how to write a chess/tetris game? thanks!

Funny you should ask, I''m actually making a website outlining a step by step process I used to make a Tetris clone. I''m just at the beginning of this project, and it''s not top on my "action item list" but as soon as I finish, I''ll post up here.
