The Four Elements game programming contest organised by Gamedev.net was very popular on these forums a few years ago. I liked it, too. And so, since the contest is no longer held (superpig has a lot of other work to do), I decided to create a replacement (at least for this year) based on the original Four Elements. In the contest, your goal is to create a full game within 5 months. This game must incorporate all four of thes elements: Proliferation - Evolution - Fire - Water Here are some more information:

Unofficial Four Elements Contest

UFEC is a community-organized sequel to the Gamedev's popular Four Elements contest. UFEC is not organized by GDNet staff. This post will be a summary of all important information about the contest. Contest organiser: Lesan (Petr Hudecek) (I'm not sure organiser is the right word... but if you have a question, I'm the person to ask.) Start date: October 30th, 2009 End date: March 17th, 2010 Four elements: Proliferation, Evolution, Fire, Water. These elements must be incorporated in your game. The more they are present, the better for you. Prizes: You can see them on the official site. We are very grateful to the sponsors. Offical website: http://ufec.zymichost.com This website hosts all important information about the contest, the elements' detailed description and a submission system. Judging: Yet to be determined, probably will consist of fellow contestant judging and official-judge judging, using the judging table on display on the official site. Official-judges' opinion will probably have more weight on the prizes' distribution. Who can enter: Anybody. All over the world, any age, just be registered on Gamedev forums and be able to make games. ---- Use Four Elements - Unofficial Contest? forum thread and the GDNet contests subforum to discuss.
