I want to encode PNG files for my game so noone can steal graphics. I know there are always alternatives for stealing but still...it would be nice to have at least one protection. So, are there any algorithms around to encode PNG files and decode them at runtime? Thanks!

There's nothing special about png files, you can encrypt them like any other binary data. Something like Crypto++ would be suitable. If you're not working in C++ you'll have to let us know so we can recommend something.

If it's just to prevent the average user to easily get their hands on your images, the easiest way may be to simply rename the file to something other than .png. Otherwise some third party encryption library may offer a little more protection, but nothing that can be easily bypassed by someone who wants to.

Yes, I'm using C++ and I'll take a closer look to that Crypto++. It looks kinda complicated however, but it will help for sure if I manage to integrate it to my game.

Thanks for your answers, maybe I'll answer again if I get problems or other questions.
