[DX9+Cg] Does Cg Check For Duplicate Calls?

Like the title says, does Cg apply data only if it is different the the data it currently has in it's parameters? For example:
// I call Set Texture twice, will it only set it once?
cgD3D9SetTexture(m_pCGParameter, pD3D9Tex->getBaseTexture());
cgD3D9SetTexture(m_pCGParameter, pD3D9Tex->getBaseTexture()); // Is this Ignored?

I'm asking only to find out if I should handle this check or if it's handled for me by the library.
