AngelScript and Java

Hi, How java and AngelScript differs? AngelScript is an embdedded scripting system but in terms of performance and other aspects how AngelScript differs? regard ragha

It's not really possible to compare the two. Java is a full-blown programming language, and AngelScript is just a scripting library.

Java is most likely many times faster than AngelScript, due to having a much more optimized compiler and VM. The readily available JIT compilers for Java brings the performance of Java up to similar levels as C++ in many situations.

AngelScript has the potential to get to those same levels of performance due to similar basic design decisions. However, considering that Java most likely has hundreds of dedicated developers constantly improving it, compared to only 1 developer working part-time on AngelScript (plus sporadic contributions from the community) I really don't see that happening anytime soon. ;)

Still, Java and AngelScript serves much different purposes, so I still believe AngelScript is a valuable library for developers.
