hi.. i need a program to convert gifs and jpegs to 256-colour bitmaps. where to find?

I favor "The GIMP" - freeware, and available for Lynux and Windows. And it ROX! Does more then you ever wanted a gfx program to do... and it is fast and relatively small.

yes, GIMP is very good. It''s not quite as good as Photoshop, but it''s VERY powerful. and it''s free.
