Frame rates between 9 and 25 on Voodoo2 ?

I am getting some low gnarly frame rates with the terrain demo. Any tips on getting these up? I have lowered the fog cut off to around 120/220 and made a new terrain.

I have found a problem with all Voodoo cards and the texture management in DX6. If you specify which stage the texture is associated with and you use single texturing, the texture management puts it in the wrong stage and has to reload the texture every time you switch materials.

If you set PR_Settings.UseMultiPass = 1;
before you load any objects that use single texturing it seems to do the trick. Make sure you set it back to 0 after loading the object.
