compileing a DirectDraw application

I pretty new to Programming with directX. i have VC++ and DirctX 8.0 SDK. how do you set them up so you can compile scripts. i go many scripts off the net but none of them worked. i read something about creating and import lib from ddraw.dll, i don''t really understand. please help me out.

Um, You don''t need to make an import library for Visual C++.
All the libraries are there in the DX SDK. Just set up the Include directory to (DXDIR)\include and your lib directory to (DXDIR)\lib where DXDIR = the folder you installed the SDK to.

THEN make sure you set in your project options to like with the proper directx libraries.
