I''ll make this short: The XFree86 log says DRI is working ((==) TDFX(0): Direct rendering enabled), but glxinfo says otherwise (direct rendering: No). My video card is a Voodoo3. Any suggestions?

I guess that you must have 16 bit color depth so do you set that as the default?
You can run the glx port of the NeHe tutorial 6 it should write the status of direct rendering.
