Hi All. I'm trying to implement soft particles with DX9 & SM 3.0 I'm using point sprites. I can actually get all the data I need but one: the Point Sprites depth value in pixel shader. I've debugged/tried averything but I can't get this data correctly. I've tried to compute this value in the VS and pass it to the PS but no luck :-( I've passed the value as a COLOR0 or TEXCOORD0 but it seems like the value is not passed correctly to the PS. Please has somebody solved this problem? Regards

Seems like driver/card problem: I've just tested the code on a GeForce 9600 GT and everything seems to work nice. Particles become soft as they approach/intersects objects. Also Point sprites depth now is readed rightfully in the Pixel Shader.

The problem I've noticed was with my laptop+bootcamp+ATI X1600.....maybe I'll try to update bootcamp driver.

I'll post further investigations....

Regards,
Mauro
