Hey, I'm new to the community and new to putting all my skills together into a game. But since I am almost ready to my first Non-Flash Browser game I am looking for more beta testers.. and hopefully an artist for my next project, as I would like to make some money with it so I would need to use my own IP and give recognition and pay based on earnings to the artist or artists involved. Either way here are a few screen shots Here are a few screens... http://www.gotbrainsentertainment.com/images/dndcb_ss1.jpg http://www.gotbrainsentertainment.com/images/dndcb_ss2.jpg http://www.gotbrainsentertainment.com/images/dndcb_ss3.jpg http://www.gotbrainsentertainment.com/images/dndcb_ss4.jpg http://www.gotbrainsentertainment.com/images/dndcb_ss5.jpg You can get to my private dev page here www.gotbrainsentertainment.com , I hope to meet like minded people here and dev better and better games ;) MWMDragon

First off, I'd be very careful if I were you about using the name "Dungeons and Dragons" on the site, and copyrighting it to your company (seeing as how it's already owned by WotC). I would highly recommend changing the name to something original.

Secondly, The game looks pretty good from the screenshots, especially since you don't have an artist yet. I'll try to look at your site later when I have some free time and see what I can do about testing it. :)
Not only are you violating Wizards of the Coast's trademarks but possibly also one of their patents.

Yeah I am aware of the whole D&D thing, it was a learning project.. WOTC has been after me for years for making D&D DMing tools and stuff LOL

Thats why I am looking for an artist.. so my next project can be 100% legal and can be used to make money ;)

The reason it looks good is because I make use of the art from the core 3 4th edition D&D books ;)

As for saying I am violating some patent.. wouldn't you need to try it first, to see what kinda game it is, before digging legal docs against it LOL

And this game that I am showing you here will be my last learning game, it is almost to public beta and is meant to be a proof of concept or fan game.

Are there many artists in this community?

I said possibly. It's something that anyone making anything even resembling a collectible card game should be aware of.

Yeah big companies like 'blanket' things like that. I'm not worried, I've had WOTC, SOE, Blizzard after me for one project of the other.. its getting to be old LOL

I figure it is easier to say 'I'm just a big fan' than it is to say 'can i please use your artwork ;)

Besides, a completely custom IP is my next game, so I'm not worried.. I saved all my great ideas for it :)

That doesn't save you from a parent (and that's exactly why patents suck, kids!)

Save us from parents?

Do you mean over litigious large companies?
