Filling a polygone's surface with DirectDraw !?

For filling up a polygone''s surface in my 3D engine using DIRECTDRAW7, I use lock() and unlock(). Is there any faster way to do it than that ? The algo I use is the one with the 2 edge, but when a polygone come close to the screen, it is kind of slow !!! Thanks ========== Wingman21 ==========
