constant frame per second for all machines in online action game?

I recently developed a multi player action gmae, may I ask: Is it better to use constant frame per second(fps) so that it is easier to synchronize all machines playing the game? Or, is there any other good method? thanks!

You should make your sync frequency independant of your rendering frequency. You might need to sync say 10 times a second, but rendering will typically be > 60fps.
