Most of my engine is done. I now need to get an area to play in ready. Of course by hand is insane. I need a level editor. I found GtkRadiant but also found that it is hard to use. What is the best level editor out there?

What kind of game are you making?

Radient is used to build first-person shooter levels. It's the tool of choice for games like Call-of-Duty. If you're building another type of game it might not be the best tool...
Its a Third Person Shooter. But isn't it all the same except the viewpoint?

So should I just go with Radient then?
Really depends on how do you deal with level geometry, if your engine uses Constructive Solid Geometry, then yes, Radiant or one of its versions would do well, there is also QuArK or Hammer, though Valve probably doesn't allow use of Hammer outside the Source SDK.

You can also use Torque Constructor.

If not, you could just use Blender or any other 3D content creation tool.
For GtkRadient I have to select a game to make the map for. Does it matter which one I pick?

How would I load a GtkRadient map? I found this http://experimentsingameprogramming.com/gtk.php
but it hasn't been finished and the last update at that site was 2008...

I haven't found anything else useful. Is there anything online that I can use?
