Direct Input Problems

Hi. A friend of mine sent me this problem which has me perplexed. Can anyone here shed any light ?
have a problem. currently working on the 3d-engine for the game. it uses opengl, direct3d and direct input. but if i implement the dinput.h and the dinput.lib and try to compile i get the errors in the dinput.obj: error link1002 external symbol not found GUID_SysKeyboard. but GUID_SysKeyboard is defined in dinput.h i downloaded the newest directx sdk 8.0 (about 45mb) +grrr+ but it still won´t work! the incredible thing is, if i include ddraw.h and ddraw.lib anything works correct... ya, that sounds like he either needs to include dxguid.lib or define, hmm, what was it. like #define somethingGUID. it''s in the dx docs.
