If I want to use d3d, should I learn some Win32?

Hey guys, Just been going through SFML tutorials, which I plan to use for building a couple 2d games. I am wondering that if I plan to go through a book I have on DirectX10, should I perhaps use win32 now, so I get comfortable with that, or should I continue with SFML? I must admit I do like SFML, and how it is structured. Note, I have done some OpenGL as well, but I feel like giving directx a try in the future, to see what I might prefer.

You only need a minimal amount of Win32 to get Direct3D up and running, usually you should just be able to pick it up along the way (I imagine your DirectX 10 book has enough to get you going).
