In an attempt to learn C#, I'm dipping into XNA and starting with a custom bitmap font renderer (yes, I know there's about a thousand of these already out there). The first step is trying to get the individual glyphs renderer out to an image, along with the layout metadata. I've been trying to write this as an XNA content pipeline extension with the System.Windows.Media API, in particular the GlyphTypeface and GlyphRun classes. Unfortunately documentation of these is really sparse, and about the only useful information I can find is this blog post. However this doesn't do any kerning, and I can't find anything in the API that actually exposes this. Can anyone point me to a way to get glyph kerning info in C#? Thanks.
