Getting MSVC IntelliSense to work with DX8 API coding

For example, when I type LPDIRECTINPUT8 lpDI; // ... lpDI-> How do I get the IntelliSense function list and parameter list to pop up? Nothing happens now. It doesnt seem to work with DX8 API. It worked fine with DirectDraw 7 API, though. This makes the coding really difficult and unenjoyable as I need to stare at SDK docs every once in a while. I''ve always been having problems getting this to work with various APIs. In Options/Editor-tab, all statement completion options are enabled as should.
