Path Manager for a Shoot'em up

Hello, I'm working a Shoot'em up and i need to make my Path Manager for enemies and bullets. I've thinked to load a XML file where i've stored all path of all enemies and bosses. But my question is: anyone have some tutorial or article that describe the way to make a Shoot'em Up Path Manager? My main idea is to make an editor Flash-Like, where you can define the path of enemy in every frame. But i think is early now :D. Thanks for the replies! And sorry for my english!
