Why theres no IASetIndexBufferS ?

Recommended Posts

Simple question: if there is IASetVertexBuffers, where you can set more than one buffer, why you cant set more than one index buffer at once? What should I do? Call IASetIndexBuffer for each index buffer?

I just want know how to use more than one vertex buffer with indexes..since you can create more than one vertex buffer..

How is the behavior? All the vertex buffers will use the same index buffer?

Simple rendering is one vertex stream and one index buffer. For each object you set the vertex buffer and index buffer and draw (you can have several objects share the same buffers).

Multiple vertex streams are useful for instancing (where each stream has a different frequency), or when parts of the data are not used the same as the rest (updated at a different frequency, not always used, etc.).
