volume rendering in Renderman

I have a set of data which is a collection of points that contain a density value. I want to render a cloud out of these points in Renderman. I've done some research and it seemed like brick maps are the way to go in Renderman but my render came out looking horrible. It seems like there isn't enough data so it's displaying huge voxels. Is there anyway way to make this render smoother into a cloud like structure? Here is the point cloud from which the brickmap was made.

I don't know RenderMan, but you could have a look at this post, it could give you hints on the general idea.
