[SlimDX] Background image?

I need some help showing a background image. I did a lot of research, and I figured out that I need to render a quad with TransformedTextured vertices. However, once I've done that, I am clueless on what to do if I have an image file called "Blah.jpg" that I want to apply on the actual quad. I tried this: Device.SetTexture(0, <textureHere>) But without any luck. Any ideas to what I may be doing wrong?

Make sure you have texture coordinates set properly on your quad.
Make sure you have your states set to enable texturing.

Ah, that wasn't the problem.

I was loading the texture from a stream that wasn't in a correct format.
