[.net] Does this sync. mech. exist and if so, what's it called?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. In many cases, several threads can read from a resource simultaneosly as long as no thread is writing to it. If a thread is writing, no other thread may read or write. I suppose I want some form of read/write aware lock queue. Take the following example request queue: rrrrrr w r w rrr w First, all the starting r's would be given access: rrrrrr w r w rrr w Then a single write request: rrrrrr w r w rrr w Then the next read, then the next write, then three reads, then a write and so on. Does a construct which allows for that exist in .NET?
