Event system?

Is there any event system library that I could use, instead of making my own? I want to do game events, but I also want the system to be able to do network events for multiplayer in the future, if I decide to do multiplayer.

Like so instead of having to pass pointers everywhere. I could just go like
eventManager->sendEvent(EVENT_TYPE); and have listeners for different types of events.
