Valve Portal Motion Blur

Hello fellow programmers... Has any body tried implementing Motion Blur from Valve's white paper I am stuck with roll motion blur. How to properly set pitch factor, when camera is pointing upward. Or how to solve a case when camera is pointing for 45 degrees up or down. In this case both horizontal and roll blurs are applied, but how to set pitch factor. I was thinking about axis dot products. But still no luck. I don't like to invent a wheel. Portal source code would be nice :)
