OpenGL Model format / animation question

I have been working on the beginnings for a new open source 3D engine built specifically on C++ and OpenGL for some time now. Right now I am getting to the point where I need to decide on model / animation formats to support other than OBJ which I have natively supported. What are some popular formats in use right now that I should definitely include?
