Hey guys, I need to process images with the UYVU and YUY2 format. In Direct X 9 you had the D3DFMT_UYVY and D3DFMT_YUY2 formats, but these are not available anymore in DX 10/11. So I assume I need to write my own conversion code? The most efficient/fastest way to do this is in a pixel shader? What's the reason that so many formats are gone ? (to make the lives of the driver developers a little bit more easier?) :)

Are you doing video processing ? If so are you using DirectShow and how did you wire up Dx 10 with DirectShow ? Or overall what's your setup ? Sorry if I bugged you :)

Yes, i'm busy with video processing.
I'm trying to convert some DX9 code to DX11.
I'm not using Direct Draw (so purely direct3D).

I was just interested how other people have attacked this format change (to have the most optimal solution). :)
But I think I'm just gonna try to do the conversion in a pixel shader (with a render target and rendering my texture to a quad etc..)
