So I want to start a business making games for people. But I don't know how I would go about it. I have knowledge in 3D art, business, and I've made a couple small arcade games. The only thing I don't have knowledge in is the specifics on running a business in that particular field. Does anyone know of a site, an article or a book that has information on how the behind the scenes business side of developing video games works?

I have also decided to start my own business making software and like you I know next to nothing about it, so I have been looking for books on Amazon, and there are quite a few.
I don't think running a game business is really alot different from any other kind of business. Any kind of book or resource about business in general will probably be quite helpful. There are very few that deal with game business specifcally. I decided to start off with "The Small Business Startup Kit"
because it has a CD with all of the legal documents you need to get started. It also has alot of information about the process.

The first thing you should do is work in the game industry for a few years. You'd learn a lot that way.
You can also read the book SECRETS OF THE GAME BUSINESS (ed. Larramee).
And read:

It will most likely be a very useful book but I am pretty sure it won't have all the legal documents you need. There are legal issues in the games industry that don't occur in normal small businesses (mainly around intellectual property rights) that you need to be aware of.

Another useful book is Business & Legal Primer for Game Development
