I want use irrlicht with CEGUI, but I got some trouble. I create a project by use the src in directory RendererModules/IrrlichtRenderer,and build it so I can use the IrrlichtRenderer.lib and IrrlichtRenderer.dll in the Samples,The problem is,when I choose DirectX 9 Renderer or OpenGL Renderer, everything is ok, but if I choose Irrlicht Renderer, there become a crash: "CEGUI::RendererException in file e:\code\cegui-0.6.1\src\ceguiimageset_xmlhandler.cpp(124) : Imageset::xmlHandler::startElement - An unexpected error occurred while creating a Texture object from file 'TaharezLook.tga' " I tried to work it out,but nothing, I think I need help. Thanks for any help on the matter.

Hmm ... the Irrlicht software renderers are not complete, maybe you stumbled upon one of the things they lack. But texture creation from a tga file should work imho. Is there any special reason for you not to use DirectX or OpenGL?

Not complete? It's so bad, I want to use them to make a small 3D game, though DirectX and OpenGL can do it too, irrlicht supply something more, like scenemanager. Maybe I should change my way.

I don't see any reason for the integration of those software renderer. In my project (see http://dustbin-online.de/marbles2.php) I let the user chose which renderer he wants to use and skip both of the software renderer shipped with Irrlicht. But the rest of this 3D engine is great imho.

I like it having a software renderer. That way, Irrlicht is also useful to those working on a non-accelerated box (admittedly, they are not that common amongst gamers).

You could post your question on the official Irrlicht forum on http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net. There are many people around that place that know more about Irrlicht's internals than me.
