Hey everyone, I'm not a Direct3D user, so this is probably a really stupid question, but please bare with me. Let's imagine I'm compiling my game with DirectX 9.0c. A user that has the simple DX9.0 , will it be able to run my game ? Is DX9.0c backwards compatible with DX9.0 ? thanks, Bruno

Hi Bruno!

These versions of Direct3D 9.0 are backward compatible, because in general all Windows libraries (DLLs and COM objects) works this way. This is the beauty of dynamic link libraries built into Windows and Linux. But you may have to look if you are not using an object or method not found in the previous version; the documentation of Direct3D 9.0c should explain the differences between these two versions.

I use Direct3D 9.0 at home, and the differences between these small updates generally are minimal. I hope this helps!
