Making games for Wii,Xbox360,Playstation 3 games

Recommended Posts

Hello,

for the XBox 360 you can use XNA. Wii and PS3 are open only to approved developer with a devkit. There are a few workarounds of course but nothing official.

Fixed. [grin]

Since you mentioned in your other thread that you don't really want to get too heavily involved with programming, I would suggest looking at something like Torque X. I believe Torque X uses a WYSIWYG editor which should significantly speed up and simplify the development process, and reduce the amount of code you would have to write to get results.

Ignore the Wii link on that page - you would still need a Nintendo dev license which are be effectively impossible to obtain for a hobbyist developer.

What software do I use to work on Wii,Xbox360,Playstation 3 games

I thought you said you wanted to learn about game design, not game programming. Perhaps you need to read up on exactly what game design is -- read the game design forum's FAQ, and read http://www.sloperama.com/advice/lesson14.htm and http://archives.igda.org/breakingin/path_design.htm

Meanwhile, since this thread is not about game design, I'm moving it where it belongs. If you want to learn about programming software, View Forum FAQ (above).
