I'm interested in experimenting with opengl 3-3.3 code in relatively simple programs, no Unreal 3010 games or anything like that. Unfortunately I can't find drivers for my card that will take it above 2.1 OpenGL. According to the analysis software it has a few 3.0 features but that's it. Is there any emulation software or some other hack that I can use to get things set up for the newer opengl versions? I'm not planning on using newfangled features just writing toying with simple opengl code.

What sort of card do you have? If it's made by nvidia, see this, they have the drivers for 3.3 and 4.

A geforce go 6150, unfortunately hp and not nvidia is mostly responsible for the drivers...the newest driver I can find for it is from 2008 from laptopvideo2go.

I'm not sure if this will work, but give it a try, its a software emulation that can emulate OGl. If it does work it will be slow. Here

That should work, it supports up to OpenGL 3.0 and GLSL 1.3, it is indeed slow as hell though.
