DrawPrimitive vs Texture size

Maybe my question is stupid, but it really confuses new comers like me. I''ve read articles teaching me to use small textures since they got better chance to be cached by hardware also batching triangles as much as possible which prevents multiple calls to DrawPrimitive. So, this makes me very confusing since I think smaller texture = more separate textures = more call to DrawPrimitive. Am I wrong? Or someone can tell me a good solution for this?

Well, it''s all a tradeoff. If offered the choice of a 256x256 grass texture or a 64x64 grass texture that doesn''t look much worse, you take the smaller one. You don''t necessarily need more textures to make up for them being smaller: it all depends on what kind of thing you''re trying to draw, and how good you want it to look. Better graphics are slower to draw, and you have to decide what is worthwhile.
