Hi there. I'm pretty experienced in writing MFC dialog apps and I've just started to learn how to use DirectX. I was hoping I could simply use SetTimer() in my OnInitDialog() method and then call some code in my OnTimer() handler.. However, it seems that no WM_TIMER messages are ever generated.

If you do this:

hRet = g_pDD->SetCooperativeLevel( m_hWnd, DDSCL_FULLSCREEN | DDSCL_EXCLUSIVE | DDSCL_ALLOWREBOOT );

..does that stop normal dialog timers from working?

Cheers
Sparky

Oops. I figured this out - I wasn't calling BeginPaint/EndPaint in the WM_PAINT handler. This caused the WM_TIMER messages to cease.
