Hello to all as this is my first post!
I have a DX9 application, built on base of 'SimpleSample' example from SDK samples.
When I try to lauch this app on another computer then I get errors that 'D3DX9_41.dll' and 'd3dx10_41.dll' are missing. When I deliver my application with this dlls in application folder then it is all OK.
Why these dlls are missing on another computers? And what can I do to have a nicer solution than coping this dlls to a computer on which I want to run my application. Maybe some projects setting in Visual Studio might help? Or maybe I should somehow create an installation package?
[DX9, DXUT, HLSL] Missing DLL's (D3DX9_41.dll, d3dx10) when launching application
These dlls are part of the DirectX redistributables. You can either use the redist setup program from the SDK or the DirectX Webinstaller to install them on another computer.
thank for answer, but can you give me some more details (maybe some links) as I'm a little lame in this topic.
Do I just need to 'take with me' the content of redist folder from SDK and just lunch setup on another computer and this will copy these dlls?
And why these dlls are missing if directx is by default installed on every PC (am I right?). Am I using some non-standard functions?

The extension DLLs (those with the x in the name) are not considered as part of the operating system itself. Therefore the application developer is responsible to distribute them.
You need to include the files from the redist folder (you can remove the cabs for versions that you don’t need) and start the setup from your setup. There is a file “directx redist.txt” that contains the files that you are not allowed to remove.
