Antialiased Text

(for a bitmap font engine)

When I write text to a DIB selected into a DC created with CreateCompatibleDC() I can't get it to anti-alias. But if I use instead the "SCREEN" device (which renders visibly to the screen) it comes out fine.

So, how can I get aa fonts without having to render each one to the screen?

I think it has something to do with this link:

(Note: The 'workaround' mentioned in that article won't work it seems)

EDIT: "An application can work around this limitation by drawing the text to a DDB-backed memory DC." is mentioned in the article, how can I create a "DDB-backed memory DC"?.
