I want to be able to easily clone base projects through the template wizard, because things seem to start imploding if I copy and manually rename projects, but I'm told VS10 is racist against C++ and the File->Project Template feature is disabled for C++ projects.

But! Apparently it is possible to make a project template via creating a custom wizard specifically for creating project templates(I was told this by Microsoft's site which makes me wonder why they didn't include such a wizard...), anyways I started on this...
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6db0hwky(VS.80).aspx
...and after around 40 minutes I realized tha I was around 8 links deep in a wiki style web of random, generic, Microsoft pages without much actual understanding.

So, can someone with some personal experience explain this process to me? I just want to create a base SDL project and I expectedthat to be among the thousands of random features that Microsoft is famous for.

EDIT: Also, is it possible to make VS have the sense not to add red squiggles for obviously temporary errors like opened curly brackets?
