There are no tutorials that make games for you. There are however tutorials which will help you learn the process and give you the knowledge to make one your self.

For a game like that.

1/ Pick a Language
C++
2/ learn the basics of that language
- Hello World
- Maths
- Vectors

3/ Select a Graphics API
- C++ has
- DirectX
- OpenGL
- SFML
- and many more

4/ Plan your game out
- break it down into small peices e.g.
- How does the player select the army?
- How will the attack system work on paper?
- How do you Win / loose the game

You have to learn howto make the game, no-one is going to write it for you. People can show you howto use the tools that allow you to make a game DirectX, XNA etc. but it up to you to figure out how to make it work

In that case, what your saying is you want something abstract, something that will show you how you could create certain features for an RTS game?

Well, I dont know of any but one exists for creating an RPG here with Direct3D 9 I believe. Not exactly what you want but should suffice and help you along the way as many of the key features found in an RPG can be found in an RTS.

I've not read the book myself but I think the reviews were good. See what you think.

EDIT: Sorry, for some reason I was thinking that you wanted to make a game like command&conquer or something.. weird moment..
