Cannot get a teapot to display

In this line: d3ddev->SetTransform(D3DTS_PROJECTION, &matView), you set the Projection matrix to the same as the View. I guess you accidentally wrote matView instead of matProjection there.

Also, you should move D3DXCreateTeapot(d3ddev, &Teapot, 0) to the end of initD3D, to only create it once. Right now you are creating a new teapot every frame, which will quickly eat up your memory.
