selection faces along a straight path on the mesh

I wrote this thread some days ago.


I tried to implement the algorithm that you suggest me, but I seem work only for smooth mesh.

I picked two point A and B on the mesh surface and build a segment l (A-B).
I get the first face from the first picked point and project the segment l on the triangle plane. I find the intersection point P between first face and line l.
After I find the edge on P lies and repeat the step for adjacent triangle that share the edge where P lies and now project the segment P-B on the next triangle and so on... My mesh is not a smooth and with high curvature change.

Can you suggest me a robust algorithm?
I looking for a shortest path between two point on a mesh with geodesics but seem it a complex algorithm to implement and I don't know if it's the right solution to my problem.

I need to selected all the faces along a segment defined by two points on the mesh surface following the segment.
