I'm learning in SDL programming that the sprites for a game can be drawn in a "paint" program and then loaded into memory from a BMP file. However, I was wondering is it possible to draw a picture into memory using various Line / Circle / Rectangle commands and then use it as I would a BMP sprite?

Thanks
Ace

Ofcourse it is.

With SDL you just create a SDL_Surface and draw to it using the SDL_gfx library
available here: http://www.ferzkopp.net/joomla/content/view/19/14/ (There are other ways to draw primitive shapes with SDL aswell , but that library is one of the easier ones)
