radial / circular or spin blur (HLSL)

Hi there,

can anyone point me on how to create such a circular blur like photoshop offers under radial blur when using teh option circular??
I'd like to do it via hlsl as a postprocessing effect.

any ideas are welcome... thanks in advance for your input.

Something like:

float step_size = max_angle/steps;
float color_sum = 0.0;
float weight = 1.0;

for(float angle = 0.0; angle <= max_angle; angle += step_size)
{
color_sum += weight * tex2(cos(angle)*radius, sin(angle)*radius);
weight *= 0.9; // or some other falloff
}

color_sum /= steps;
