hi,

im trying to get a texture from a scene. i already grab the raw image and put it on the vga memory to clean the system memory. now i want to grab it again without reading the raw image file again, so simply read the one that is placed in the vga memory. is it possible? if so, how can i do that?

thanks in advance

Well I am not sure if it is possible to access VGA memory and just copy data and what is the reason to clear your image data if you want to use them again later, but you can always use orthogonal projection with rendered quad.
Just create FBO, bind it before rendering quad and than just use texture unit where you stored your texture (the one you want to get data from).
You can also use glCopyTexImage2D() but FBO is much faster.
