Direct3D and switchable graphics

Hi everyone,

I'm developing an application in Direct3D10 in an notebook with Switchable graphics by ATI. Both the GPU's are D3D10 compatible. When you plugin the power source it will switch to high performance GPU.

It is managed by CCC(catalyst control centre) automatically.
But it denies to switch the GPU while running certain applications like RenderMonkey and InternetExplorer 8.0
(MSG is : GPU will not be switched until you closed your current running application)

My primary concern is how should i make my application aware of CCC to not to switch the graphics card or When my application is running CCC should behave as in the case of above applications like RenderMonkey.

I not aware of how to handle your applications in switchable graphics environment.
