I have models in the format .X, know that it is almost impossible to prevent users from accessing them. But I wanted a way to not leave them visible, I would use something like .pak
Anyone have any ideas? With sprites (.png .bmp ...) too
Thanks
Securing Files
Usually it's good enough to put them in a zip file and rename it to something other than .zip. In C++ I usually use PhysFS to read the resulting file.
Search the forum history for previous posts on the same topic - it comes up monthly, if not weekly.
To sum up what you will find:
- Don't bother trying to protect assets, as it is futile, and discourages mods.
- If you are going to bother, just stuff them in a zip file (a .pak is just a zip).
- Anything further is a waste of time.
