Issues using ASSIMP and 3DSMAX

How do I control exactly what the mTransform for an aiNode will be in max? For example if a grouped a bunch of meshes together in max to create a propeller for a helicopter all the meshes would load in ASSIMP grouped under a single node. How could I position the mTransform of this node at the center of the blades in max (around which I want them to rotate) and make it so the mTransform only contains a translation not a rotation or scalar (which it seems to arbitrarily do) allowing me to easily program an animation for the blades?
