You might want to be a bit more descriptive. Might have to do with the near and far view-plane values.
Yes, please provide more details (how are you creating that mesh? how are you rendering? etc..)
I don't think it has anything to do with the near/far plane [the terrain behind that mesh and the gun (if it's supposed to look black) renders fine]. My guess would be something to do with the vertex/input declaration or the vertex and/or index buffers for that mesh.
