Motion Tracking via webcam and C++

Hey, I'm working on a game which involves motion tracking and for the PC port, I'd like to let the user use his/her webcam to guide objects, etc. So far, I haven't been able to find any algorithms to do this. I see videos and such all the time, but never any source code. I guess most people don't like their work stolen or anything like that.

Not sure if it matters, but my PC port is using OpenGL. Is there a webcam API that allows me to copy the pixels received from the webcam to a texture rectangle? Or should I use DirectShow? Thanks.
